Initiative for Minorities:
In 2018 our founder gathered 10 colleagues from across the country to form I’m Heard Inc. I’m Heard is a nonprofit that aims to end the stigma of mental illness in minority communities in the US.
In 2020, I’m Heard officially expanded to be a global initiative collaborating with professionals and organizations in countries including England, USA, South Africa, and Nigeria!
Challenge the stigma and misconceptions surrounding mental health among diverse populations around the world.
Foster a peer-to-peer system for spreading awareness of mental health and mental health services in minority communities.
Ensure the majority of the diverse communities (ethnic, racial, and sexual minorities) have a fair understanding of mental health and mental health issues through story telling initiatives
Strive to improve legislation, policies and allocation of government budget and funding to mental health in diverse communities.
Improve the human resources capacity of identifying and treating mental health and Psychosocial conditions in diverse communities.
This organization is especially dedicated to anyone who’s ever been isolated, stigmatized, and alone. You are worthy, brave and far from it! We hope to serve you by providing a safe environment to educate and empower each other in our fight to end the stigma of mental illness in our unique communities.
